The Final Process
In early 2020 Ryedale Organics commissioned a new Optical Sorting Line to complement the existing Wash Plant. Our closed loop system is now complete ensuring removal of all awkward contaminants. The Tomra autosort combines leading edge features and technology in one machine giving us the full range of tools to confidently remove all types of waste. The site is now fully sufficient in dealing with all Oversize produced and benefits from creating a quality recycled product.
How it works
1. The material is loaded into the line with a front end loader. The hopper then discharges a metered amount of material onto the incline feed belt.
2. As the material passes through the picking station, larger pieces can be inspected or removed.
3. A vibrating plate then spreads the material evenly across a wide, high speed belt.
4. Using a camera, laser and high pressure air jets the contaminants are removed and ejected into a separate collecting bay.
5. The clean wood product is dropped below ready for use.
6. Small fragments of ejected contaminant's.
